\u201eStatistics of a Bouquet\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Installation \u201eStatistics of a Bouquet\u201c untersucht den Zusammenhang zwischen einem verg\u00e4nglichen Blumenarrangement und n\u00fcchternen Zahlen zu Geburt und Tod und zeigt, wie individuelle Trauer und kollektive Zeitmessung miteinander verflochten sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Projekt basiert auf der Idee, dass die Welt der Toten die Welt der Lebenden \u00fcbersteigt und dass die Grenzen zwischen Leben und Tod, Innen und Au\u00dfen, Vergangenheit und Gegenwart flie\u00dfend sind. In Anlehnung an philosophische Ideen der niederl\u00e4ndischen Schriftstellerin Connie Palmen werden der menschliche K\u00f6rper und das Ged\u00e4chtnis als Archive verstanden: Spuren anderer Leben, Worte und Verluste begleiten uns von Geburt an.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Mittelpunkt der Fotoinstallation steht ein Strau\u00df roter Tulpen in einer roten Vase. Sein nat\u00fcrlicher Verfall wurde \u00fcber acht Monate hinweg, von April bis November 2025, dokumentiert, was zu 147 Bildern f\u00fchrte, die den \u00dcbergang von Frische zu Verwelkung, von Pr\u00e4senz zu Abwesenheit zeigen. Eine Auswahl dieser Fotografien wird von statistischen Daten zu Geburten und Todesf\u00e4llen in Berlin und anderen St\u00e4dten begleitet. Dies verbindet pers\u00f6nliche Beobachtung mit kollektiver Realit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beate Rusch hat bei verschiedenen namhaften K\u00fcnstlerinnen und K\u00fcnstlern gelernt, darunter Birgit Jansen (Berlin), Jerry Zeniuk und Ingrid Floss (M\u00fcnchen) und Rebecca Raue (Berlin). Seit 2013 zeigt sie ihre Bilder regelm\u00e4\u00dfig in Gruppenausstellungen im In- und Ausland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStatistics of a Bouquet\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The installation \u201cStatistics of a Bouquet\u201d examines the iconnection between a fleeting flower bouquet and sobering figures on birth and death, showing how individual grief and collective timekeeping are interwoven with one another. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is based on the idea that the world of the dead exceeds the world of the living and that the boundaries between life and death, inside and outside, past and present are fluid. Based on philosophical ideas of the Dutch author Connie Palmen, the human body and memory are understood as an archive: traces of other lives, words, and losses accompany us from our birth on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the center of the photo installations stands a bouquet of red tulips in a red vase. Its natural deterioration\/decay was documented over a period of eight months, from April to November 2025, resulting in 147 pictures showing the transition from freshness to wilting, from presence to absence. A selection of these photos is accompanied by statistical data on births and deaths in Berlin and other cities. The installation thus interconnects personal observation with collective reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beate Rusch learned from various renowned artists, including Birgit Jansen (Berlin), Jerry Zeniuk  and Ingrid Floss (Munich), and Rebecca Raue (Berlin). She has been presenting her pictures in group exhibitions in Germany and abroad on a regular basis since 2013. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn Tiernan ist eine in Irland geborene K\u00fcnstlerin, die in Berlin lebt und arbeitet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn schafft abstrakte Stadtlandschaften aus perspektivischen Zeichnungen, die auf ihren eigenen Fotografien realer Geb\u00e4ude und Orte basieren. Ausgehend von beobachteter Architektur fertigt sie detaillierte Zeichnungen an, die sie anschlie\u00dfend dekonstruiert, fragmentiert und neu kombiniert. Durch das Zusammenf\u00fcgen von Ausschnitten aus verschiedenen Zeichnungen konstruiert sie fiktive Landschaften, die Spuren realer Orte bewahren und zugleich zu v\u00f6llig neuen Umgebungen werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zwischen Realit\u00e4t und Fantasie schwebend, erforschen diese R\u00e4ume unsere Beziehung zu Ort, Identit\u00e4t und Zeit sowie das sich wandelnde Gleichgewicht zwischen Kontrolle und Ungewissheit in der Art und Weise, wie wir uns in der Welt um uns herum zurechtfinden. W\u00e4hrend die Malerei im Mittelpunkt ihrer k\u00fcnstlerischen Praxis steht, arbeitet Evelyn auch mit Installationen und Videos, um Wahrnehmung und Perspektive weiter herauszufordern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn Tiernan is an Irish-born artist who lives and works in Berlin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evelyn creates abstract cityscapes from perspective drawings based on her own photographs of real buildings and locations. Beginning with observed architecture, she produces detailed drawings that are then deconstructed, fragmented, and recombined. By merging sections from multiple drawings, she constructs fictional landscapes that retain traces of real places while becoming entirely new environments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suspended between reality and imagination, these spaces explore our relationship to place, identity, and time, as well as the shifting balance between control and uncertainty in how we navigate the world around us. While painting is central to her practice, Evelyn also works with installation and video to further challenge perception and perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
