AOr Nopawan Sirivejkul\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Aor Nopawan Sirivejkul, born in Bangkok in 1968, is a Thai performance artist, and is considered to be one of the most dedicated and active of them. Beyond her performances, she has conceptualized and organized her own performance art event with Mongkol Plienbangchang called \u201cblurborders International performance art eXchange.\u201d Nopawan was the project manager for ASIATOPIA in 2000\u201304, 2008, 2010, and 2012\u201317.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She has performed and exhibited internationally since 2002 at global performance art festivals, including in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, M\u00e9xico, Canada, Norway, Germany, Finland, Spain, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Israel, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and India. As part of the cultural exchange program between Quebec and Bangkok, she was one of the artists selected by the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre to represent the city in 2016. Das Material besitzt einen symbolischen Charakter, der die Bildsprache ihrer Arbeiten unterst\u00fctzt. In diesen untersucht sie die Kernfragen des Menschseins. Den Kreislauf von Werden und Vergehen, das Verh\u00e4ltnis zwischen Menschen und Natur, sowie deren Koexistenz. Her concepts find expression in performance and installations, in which video and sound works are also integrated. Collecting natural materials in particular, such as hair, insects and plants, is an important part of her work. The intensive engagement with the materials creates a special relationship between them and the artist, which lends the works a particular intensity.
